Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Welcome to Student Support where we have a dedicated and established team who tailor provision for the students’ individual needs. This is achieved either in mainstream classes, group work or one-to-one interventions. In addition to providing support for students with specific learning difficulties, we also provide support for personal, social and emotional development and well-being and host a range of outside agencies to provide support for our young people.

Our experienced team is led by our SENDCo, Justin Riviere (jriviere@nclt@academy), and assisted by a full-time SENDCo Assistant.  Together we monitor and co-ordinate provision for children requiring additional support.  We are supported by four specialist HLTAs and a team of TAs.  The SENDCo is also the Designated teacher for Children in Care and leads on Exam Access Arrangements.  More information about Student Support and our services will be available on the school website throughout the year.

We aim to build a good relationship with our students and parents/carers.  Throughout the year, we hope to provide drop in sessions for parents/carers seeking further information about support for children with additional needs and we are more than happy to provide advice and sign post to appropriate advice, support and information.

Being a small school, we are able to get to know and treat each student as an individual and we pride ourselves on our personalised approach, encouraging each student to fulfil their potential in an inclusive environment.
